The school has established a set of agreed principles to determine its SEND Policy. We recognise children and staff as individuals with their own unique personalities and abilities. We will meet the school community’s educational, social, emotional and physical needs by creating an environment that encourages and stimulates the development of everyone’s full potential.

We aim:

• To provide a stable and safe environment where children and staff are stimulated, motivated and eager to learn and work.
• To encourage children to be self-disciplined, confident and adaptable and to have a high degree of self-esteem.
• To foster a caring, sensitive community where everyone matters and where we all respect the needs, cultures and beliefs of others both inside and outside the school.
• To match tasks and resources to the needs and abilities of each child so that every child is challenged academically, physically and socially.
• To teach within the framework of the Foundation stage and the National Curriculum with an emphasis on the development of a wide range of learning skills.
• To establish an environment of high expectations and achievements for all members of the community.
• To establish an environment in which teaching and non-teaching staff, governors, advisory colleagues, parents, carers and children can support and work with each other.

Dear Parents - If you have questions or need help understanding how to use the Local Offer or someone to do the searching for you, you can get face-to-face support during a Local Offer surgery.

These are run on the last Tuesday of the month at The Resource Centre at Hackney Ark. At these surgeries the Local Offer Coordinator can help you to find and print the information from the website that you need.

In order to be as helpful as possible a representative from:

• The Resource Centre
• Hackney's Short Breaks team
• Hackney SENDIAGS (SEND Information, Advice and Guidance Service) Prospects Careers Service / SEND advisor

will also be available at these sessions and able to offer face to face advice.
