Welcome to Betty Layward Primary School

Betty Layward Primary School is situated in Stoke Newington and is at the heart of the local community. We are a thriving two-form entry, inner-city primary school, where you will experience high expectations and a commitment to pupils, staff and parents.

During the Autumn Term 2011 Betty Layward was awarded the Rights Respecting School (RRS) level 1 award. This work underpins the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and promotes the awareness of children’s rights. At Betty Layward we promote RRS as our school ethos alongside children’s rights and responsibilities and are beginning to link our work to a global context.
